Brede Hangeland has underlined his devotion to Fulham just at at time when the supporters of the club are most fearful of losing him.
Arsenal are reported to have made an £8 million approach for the physically-imposing Norwegian international, who has quickly established himself as one of the league's top centre-backs.
Hangeland almost instantly became a fan's favorite at Craven Cottage from from FC Copenhagen only about a year-and-a-half ago, so a lot will be read into every comment he makes surrounding his future.
"We have been going in the right direction from the time I came here in January last year," he enthused in the Evening Standard.
"Hopefully we can agree a new contract, and then I'll stay here for a long time."
